Preventative Grain Handling (Preseason)

  • Check Gearbox & Center Drive Oil Levels  - check oil levels & topp off with the appropriate gear oil. Maintaining proper levels will prevent excessive gear wear & prolong bearing life of gearboxes.
  • Grease the Pivot Point - this should be done once per season or after every 1,000 hours of operation, which ever comes first. This helps your system move more freely during operation.
  • Check Bolts - Tighten any loose bolts that have any movement. Loose bolts can cause unnecessary stress on the system during the season or even cause entire system to fall over.
  • Inspect Drivelines - Worn joints & driveline bolts are easy to repair if caught early but can cause issues in the middle of the season.
  • Check the Tire Pressure - Check for the CORRECT tire pressure.  This helps maintain adequate flotation & prevent excessive gearbox wear.  Ensure the wheels and any lug nuts are tightened.
  • Check End Guns - If equipped, make sure all plumbing is intact & appears to be in good working condition.  Make sure to check for rodent damage and/or tubing degradation.
  • Check Spinkler Nozzles - Look for missing or damaged sprinklers and repair or replace them as needed.
  • Update your Tech - Make sure your technology is running on the latest software.
